Yanbu weather through the year
The Yanbu weather figures on this page are long-term climate averages from the Saudi National Center for Meteorology, published through the World Meteorological Organization for the reference period 1982 to 2011. They are not measurements from 2026 and not a forecast. Maximum and minimum are monthly means of the daily highs and lows, and rain is the mean monthly total.
Read the table as a pattern: a long hot stretch in the middle of the year and a milder season at either end. It says nothing about sea temperature, swimming conditions or diving visibility, and it is no safety statement.

Best time to visit Yanbu
The cooler season is easier for sightseeing.
The cooler part of the year is climatically more favourable for sightseeing than high summer, and that is the only conclusion the table supports. It points to the months around winter for walks in the old town, time on the waterfront and anything that keeps you outdoors for hours. It does not name a perfect month, and it does not say the sea is right for swimming or diving then.
Whatever month you choose, read the travel advice at the bottom of this page first and check cancellation terms before you book.

Summer heat
June to September.
For June, July, August and September the table lists mean daily highs of 40.1, 40.0, 40.1 and 39.7 °C, and the mean lows in August are 27.0 °C. Plan outdoor time for the early morning or the evening if you travel then, drink water regularly and keep walks on the old town lanes short. In midsummer the day is better spent indoors or on the move by car.
Yanbu in December
What the table shows.
For December the table gives a mean daily high of 29.5 °C, a mean low of 15.9 °C and 10.0 mm of rain. That makes December one of the milder months for a walk through al-Sur or along the waterfront. Pack a light layer for the evening and do not expect the table to rule out a wet day.
Yanbu Flower Festival
An event in the industrial city, with a date that moves.
The 16th Yanbu Flower Festival took place in 2026 in the Events Garden of Yanbu Industrial City. The organiser is a Yanbu royal authority. According to a report of 2 April 2026, it ran until 23 April 2026. In 2025, SPA documented the festival in the same garden on 23 February 2025, so the period changes from year to year and last year's dates cannot be carried forward.
SPA mentions electronic tickets, shuttle services, a bird garden, a flower village and a boulevard. No start date for 2026, prices, opening hours or dates for 2027 are given here. Check the dates and tickets with the organiser shortly before you travel. The festival is in the industrial city, not in the old town, so see the old town guide for al-Sur. Hikayat Yanbu, held on the waterfront from 30 May to 18 June 2026, is a different festival and should not be confused with it.
Ramadan and Hajj
Two calendars that affect a trip.
During Ramadan, the FCDO asks visitors to avoid eating, drinking, smoking and chewing gum in public during the day, including in a car. Opening hours may differ, so check them separately instead of assuming normal hours. The details are on visa and rules.
For Hajj, the FCDO points to possible flight and entry restrictions for Jeddah, Medina and Taif. No Hajj period for Yanbu can be derived from that, but if your route runs through one of those places, check the rules for your dates. The getting there page covers the routes.
Travel advice in October 2026
Read both official notices before you book.
The German Federal Foreign Office has warned against travel to Saudi Arabia since 29 October 2026 (status 31 October 2026). It describes attacks and considerable risks to air traffic and has mentioned the province of Medina since the beginning of September.
The British FCDO, in its notice of 27 October 2026, names Yanbu in connection with the raised threat to ports and energy infrastructure. It warns of further disruption and flight cancellations and advises against all but essential travel to the rest of the country.
These are two separate notices, and this page does not merge them. Read the current versions before you book and again before you leave, and check the cancellation terms of every booking.
