Yanbu beach: where to look
Anyone searching for a Yanbu beach on the Red Sea coast should first sort the town into its three parts. Yanbu al-Bahr is the historic coast in the north. Yanbu Industrial City lies south of it and holds the waterfront, Al Nawras Island and Yanbu Lake Park. Yanbu al-Nakhl is inland in the east and is known for palms and springs, not for the sea.
An older official guide from 2022 names Barracuda Beach, Yanbu al-Bahr Beach, Yanbu Waterfront, Alaiqh and Al Nawras Island. These are names and nothing more: they say nothing about access, prices or swimming rules, and this page does not rank them. RCJY lists beach offers, walking paths, family picnic areas and play areas for its industrial city, but that does not mean every beach has the same facilities.

Yanbu corniche and waterfront
The promenade side of the coast.
A corniche is a seafront promenade, and in Yanbu the term is mostly used for the waterfront of the industrial city. It is the place for a walk, a bench and a view of the water. Whether you can swim at a given stretch is a separate question that the sources do not answer, so look for signs on site and ask locally.
Do not assume that a stretch of coast is a beach just because it has a promenade. Likewise, do not assume that a spot with a name from the 2022 guide still looks the way it was described. Treat every name as a starting point for asking, not as a promise.
Try something on the waterfront
If you would rather be on the water than on the sand, this JetSurf lesson starts on the Al Bathnah promenade.

Al Nawras Island
Al Nawras is not only a boat destination. SPA described in 2021 a bridge of about 500 m that links the island to the waterfront of Yanbu Industrial City, so you can reach it on foot from the shore side. The same report lists green areas, walking paths, children's play areas, toilets and prayer places, with paths designed for people with disabilities.
That description is from 2021. Facilities change, so there is no guarantee that everything is open or in the same state today. Check on arrival, especially if you travel with someone who relies on step-free routes.
Yanbu Lake Park
Visit Saudi (page updated in 2025) describes Yanbu Lake Park as an artificial lake park and says no entry ticket needs to be bought. That applies to this park only. It tells you nothing about the cost of any beach or other site in town.
Beach rules
What applies in public places.
Barriers
Do not go around barriers in public facilities. This appears in the official list of public decency violations.
Fire and litter
Fire is only for places set aside for it, and littering is an offence. Take your rubbish with you.
Clothing
The Public Decorum Charter asks for modest dress in public. There is no single rule for swimwear that fits every beach, so ask at the specific site before you go, and when in doubt dress conservatively.
Photos
Do not take pictures of people without consent. Our visa and rules page lists the other photo limits.
Nothing here promises opening hours, entry fees, showers, changing rooms, shade, lifeguards, sunbeds or parking. Rules of a private facility are not the rules of a public promenade.
Water sports on the waterfront
Two options inside the activity range.
An electric JetSurf session runs for 1 hour and starts at the promenade of Al Bathnah. Full supervision, a guide, a life jacket and the water sports are included. A paddleboarding session in the canal of Yanbu Industrial City has the same inclusions and also lasts 1 hour. Check the meeting point shown at booking, since the two start in different places.
Diving and snorkelling are covered on separate pages: see diving and snorkeling. The cooler months suit outdoor time better than midsummer, as the weather page shows with long-term climate averages. For the old quarter, which is in the north, see the old town guide. A car makes the distances easier; see getting there.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the best Yanbu beach?
There is no ranking here. The 2022 guide names several places, but without details on access or conditions. Ask locally which stretch suits your plan.
Can I swim in Yanbu?
That depends on the specific site and its rules. Ask on the spot, follow signs and, when in doubt, dress conservatively.
Do I need a ticket for Yanbu Lake Park?
Visit Saudi (2025) says no entry ticket needs to be bought for this park. That statement does not extend to other places.
Is this the official website of Yanbu?
No. It is an independent guide and not the website of Visit Saudi, the Saudi Tourism Authority, RCJY or the Yanbu airport.
